We Don't Even Talk Anymore (Yes, That's a Boyz 2 Men lyric)

If you follow us on any social media channels, you will find a mix of edgy content combined with independent analysis and data from reputable organizations like the Cleveland Clinic and independent doctors. The goal is to put out interesting and pertinent information on the impact mobile devices like iPhone and iPads have in our everyday lives (good or bad). The data around how much bacteria and other germs that live on the one thing we can't live without is legitimate and concerning. When you delve into people who work in healthcare or with the public, it's even more concerning. In our lifetime, NOTHING has transformed our lives on a scale like smartphones. More content comes out in 2 days than the entire combined period of B.C until 2003. This is a validated statistic. Most of that content is consumed on the thing you are probably reading this on, a smartphone. Physicians have now begun calling referring to smartphones as "the 3rd hand" or "extra appendage". This comes down to the fact we ALWAYS HAVE THEM WITH US! This has come with unintended consequences and I am not just referring to the microscopic poop on your screen from when you or your kids used the bathroom today. iPhones, Androids, iPads and other mobile devices are ruining relationships because we cannot tear ourselves away from the Facebook feed or the latest meme. We can text OMG, LOL, FYI, and WTF but context is lost in the text. Communication skills are being degraded because we can send emojis and bitmojis as a way to express our feeling as opposed to actually having a conversation. It's actually a joke of "don't call, just text".

We are essentially living in an quasi AR (alternative reality) or virtual reality (VR) lite. This is what the Pokemon Go actually is (AR). The screen takes us out of reality and into any place we want to go. We pick up our devices every 5 minutes or less when that chime or buzz goes off. We ignore kids, spouses, friends, and family because of the endorphin rush that occurs when we see that little red number by the Facebook app. We are addicted to "notifications". Am I guilty of this? Absolutely. Am I working on this? Yes, but it is hard. We implement "phone free time" for the entire family. So at the end of the day, BioCloak Solutions set out to find safe, effective, and innovative solutions to kill microscopic poop, "staph", and other germs on the iPhone you're reading this on. What we found in the research is a much bigger societal issue unfolding in that we can't put the devices down long enough to have a meaningful conversation with our loved ones. Now, put your phone down, turn it off (YES!), and talk to your loved ones....
